5052 Aluminum Plate

5052 aluminum plate is Al Mg alloy aluminum plate. Magnesium is the main alloy element in 5052 alloy aluminum plate. It is the most widely used antirust aluminum. This alloy has high strength, especially fatigue strength: high plasticity and corrosion resistance, can not be strengthened by heat treatment, good plasticity in semi cold work hardening, low plasticity in cold work hardening, good corrosion resistance, good weldability and poor machinability , can be polished.  Aluminum magnesium alloy also contains a small amount of manganese, chromium, beryllium, titanium, etc. In addition to a small amount of solid solution, most of the manganese in the alloy forms mnal6. The effect of chromium in 5052 aluminum plate is similar to that of manganese, which can improve the ability of stress corrosion cracking resistance, increase the strength of base metal and weld, and reduce the tendency of welding cracks, but the content of chromium is generally less than 0.35%.

Application

It is mainly used for low load parts that require high plasticity and good weldability and work in liquid or gas medium, such as oil tank, gasoline or lubricating oil conduit, various liquid containers and other small load parts made by deep drawing: wire rod is used for rivets.

Surface 5052 aluminum alloy sheet？

1. Cracks, corrosion spots and traces of nitrate are not allowed on the surface.

2. The surface is allowed to have peeling, bubble, surface coarse exceeding and local mechanical damage with the depth not exceeding 8% of the nominal size of the wall thickness of the part where the defect is located, but the maximum depth of the defect shall not exceed 0.5mm, and the total area of the defect shall not exceed 5% of the total area of the plate.

Process performance

(1) formability

The alloy has good plasticity in the hot process. The forging and die forging temperature is 420 ~ 475 ° C, and the deformation rate is more than 80% in this temperature range.

The cold stamping performance is related to the alloy state. The cold stamping performance in annealed (o) state is good, followed by H32 and H34 state, but not H36 / h38 state.

(2) welding performance

The properties of gas welding, arc welding, resistance welding, spot welding and seam welding of the alloy are good. The brazing performance is good, but the soldering performance is poor.

The strength and plasticity of the weld are high, and the strength of the weld is 90% ~ 95% of the strength of the base metal. However, the air tightness of the weld is not high. 5A03 alloy is recommended as the solder, which can improve the air tightness and eliminate the tendency of cracks.

(3) machining performance

The machinability of the alloy in annealed state is not good, but it is improved in cold work hardening state.
